NeverTheLess – August 26, 2018

Welcome To All, especially if you are visiting us today. We are delighted to have you here.  If you are visiting, we invite you to fill out a pew card and put it in the plate.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL   many, many thanks to everyone who planned and participated in this year’s VBS.  Thirty children got to hear about God’s Peace Lab, and had a great time!

Bless the Backpacks   Your students are invited to bring their backpacks on Sunday, September 9.  At 10 am worship, we will bless the backpacks and everyone will receive a blessing card to tuck into a pocket and have handy.

Parish Picnic   Also on September 9, we'll have the Parish Picnic immediately following 10 am worship.  We'll provide the chicken and the lemonade.  Please bring a favorite dish to pass.

Children & Youth Formation Open House   Sunday, September 16 at 9 am, bring your school age children downstairs to meet the teachers, see the classrooms, and learn about this year's curriculum.

Organist & Choir Master and Formation Director  We have two positions open for the right people!  We are advertising through the Diocese as well as on our own website.  If you know anyone with the heart and skills for either of these positions, please encourage them to apply as instructed in the postings.

Ushers    Summer is a great time to try on a new role in our Sunday mornings.  Ushering is an easy, yet vitally important, role to the smooth running of Sunday worship.  If you are interested, there is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board at Information Central, or contact Margaret in the office.  Sign up for a week, or 2, or a whole month.

OFFICE VOLUNTEERS   We are seeking to expand our roster of folks who are able to help out in the office during staff meetings and/or when Margaret is out of the office.  If you have an hour or so on a Wednesday morning (staff meeting is going back to Wednesdays at 9:30 am on Sept. 5) or a free morning when Margaret is out (there will be lots of notice for such an event), please contact Kris Holt, 368.0609.

Lunches for Kids    The YMCA is working to help disadvantaged children in our community get lunch during the summer weekdays.  If you can help for a day, or a week, or more, please contact Janet Taylor, who is spearheading this vital community effort.

School Supplies    Hanover Safe Place has a donation box in our hallway to collect school supplies for the kids in their care.  We welcome, and appreciate, your generosity.  Hanover Safe Place offers care for families fleeing domestic violence.
