We are a parish which seeks to be a light of Jesus Christ, fostering spiritual growth, Christian education and fellowship within the parish and reaching out in Christian love to those in the world whom we serve in His name, especially in the community of Ashland, Hanover County, Randolph-Macon College and the Diocese of Virginia. Because of our commission given to us at our Baptism, we seek to encourage and develop each person's God-given gifts for ministry and personal growth. We therefore strive to be a parish, which welcomes others and encourages full participation in the life and activities of St. James the Less Episcopal Church.
